I've also heard of these pillows being used during pref parties so that the PNMs can actually get a chance to see a pin close up and appreciate what might be theirs if they join that chapter.

Pillows aren't hard or expensive to make if you have a little sewing knowledge. You need two pieces of fabric (a little bigger than you want the pillow to be) and cotton batting. You can also get lace or ribbon to decorate the pillow with. Sew the two pieces of fabric together with the "finished" side of the fabric facing in (the pillow is inside out). Before you sew the fourth side, turn the pillow right side out and stuff batting through the open side. Sew the fourth side closed--you have to be much more careful now because the sewn side will be on the outside. Then decorate!
