Im not a social chair currently, Although i used to be... Good mixers (we call them stags at my school) should be cheap, fun, have some sort of activities or games, a theme, and lots of alchohol...
One thing we usually do is we buy beer and the sorority brings the hard alchohol, makes things easier and standard....
Best one ever was themed 'Naughty Schoolgirl, Perverted Principle' costumes were easy and fun and the games were easy, just make drinking games out of the games you played in elementary school, like red rover or heads up seven up etc...
