She definitely brought it upon herself and you have nothing to worry about. She should be thankful that you and your husband cared so much. You should also remember that by letting her go your setting an example to other employees that work there. She might have caused some sort of domino effect. Managers definitely have it tough sometimes. I can understand how it can be tough even though I've never been one. I guess thats why they pay you the bucks.
