After the most horrible post-party session in my collegiate or alumna days, I got home about 2.30 AM Friday. I emailed my sister advisors about the night, wound down, and got to bed about 3.30. My DH told me our tomcat, EddieBoy, had been in a fight, all bloodied and limping - but would be fine. I checked him out and his one eye was not responding to light. I got dressed and gave DH 2 options - dress & shut up, or stay home. He came with me to the 24/7 vet nearby. About 4.30AM the vet looked at him, suspected he was hit by a car and had a broken front arm! Oh, and we had to then go to another 24/7 vet about 40 mins away for xrays and an orthopedic evaluation. That vet confirmed he had a broken elbow requiring orthopedic surgery to place a pin in his elbow. Without the surgery, he'd still need a cast for weeks, but probably not regain full use of the leg and would become arthritic. We got the surgery and he'll make a complete recovery. The neon green cast, covering his entire front leg, comes off in 2 weeks. He must remain in a large dog crate for a total of 8 weeks to ensure complete healing. I'd take a picture & post here, but I LOST my digital camera on TUE when I brought it for Recruitment! My Natalie (ole one eye) just LOVES climbing all over the cage - I'm sure he loves to see her out there, using all her paws...

(Oh, I finally got to bed at 9.30 on Friday AM! I had been crying for the past 6 hours straight! I was then awoken at noon by the PD to discuss the mess the night before. Deep in my heart, I love my ADPi - but at that moment all I wanted was SLEEP!)
