DST to observe Founder's Day

Pardon me for jumping in!

This was a great article in my local paper. It's too long to post.

The Newnan Times-Herald 2/1/06

The Lagrange Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., a public service sorority, will observe Founder's Day Saturday, Feb.. 11 at 3.p.m.. The program will be held at First Baptist Church, 204 Fannin St., in LaGrange (GA). The featured speaker will be the 22nd National President Gwendolyn E. Boyd.

The public is invited to attend.......

From 2000-2004 Gwendolyn Boyd served as tne 22nd National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. During her tenure, she was known as the "Technology President" as she ushered the sorority through a paradigm shift in moving to online registration for conferences and conventions and establishing technology in all facets of sorority activities and completing the $6.5 million renovation of the national headquarters that was paid in full (wow!!)

It was under her leadership that the Sorority received a $1.6 million grant from the National Science Foundation for Project SEE (Science in Everyday Experiences) to promote math and science for middle school African American girls.

((Very nice picture of her in a red jacket with white blouse )
