JocelynC is right. My best friend from high school told me that she thought sororities were cults. I told her that she shouldn't join one then. I also told her not to make any more comments like that in my presence or I would be forced to expound on my opinion of ignorant independents (and for those of you on this board who tend to be a little touchy, I am not suggesting that all independents are ignorant, but I am saying that *some* independents are ignorant about what greek life is really about). My friend is a quality girl. Greek life was not for her. And we are lucky enough to have a friendship where we can speak honestly, but I have never tried to change her opinion. Even if you tried to change the opinions of those girls in your class, there's probably another 500 girls at your school who feel the same way. So rise above. I know it's frustrating. But in the end, I always felt sorry for them - they never get to experience all the awesome things I experienced in college by going greek. Too bad for them.
