I understand the reason for your comments, but the fight against terrorism started long before 9/11. It has been going on for many years, but the 9/11 event itself seems like some kind of beginning. In fact, it wasn't even the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
Even in this particular case, I would argue that people like the air traffic controllers began the fight earlier -- although there wasn't much they could do and confusion thwarted their efforts.
That is not to take anything at all away from the brave people on Flight 93, but rather to point out that they weren't the only ones fighting that morning, and that people have been fighting terrorism for many years.
