That was funny for real.
I understand when the kids see my Greek letters and immediately insist, "DO A STEP!" It's not as tolerable when a middle-aged woman doesn't recognize that Greeks do more than step.
My aunt (by marriage) met three sorors as we were returning from an out-of-state Regional Conference. I introduce the sorors, and she immediately replies, "So y'all are in the sorority together? DO A STEP!"
It's common, but it's still irritating.
