Interesting. I just remember that no man is perfect. I never saw Kirk Franklin as perfect. Kirk's music as well as his testimony -- background and his struggles -- are instruments of ministry. His addiction to pornography is the thorn in his flesh or cross to bear that God gave to him to be a light for others.

I am sure a whoooooooooole bunch of people, men and women, watched Oprah last night and gained courage to come to grips with an addiction, be it pornography or otherwise.

I hold Kirk in the same light that I do Rev. Vashti McKenzie, Pastor Murphy, and Pastor Troy -- all pastors, 2 whose churches I currently belong to or formerly belonged to.

I was not devastated to hear about Kirk's addiction because I believe the Bible to be true when it says, "We ALL fall short of the glory of God." That verse does not say all the people who are not in ministry or sit in a pulpit or sing in the choir, lead praise and worship, etc. etc.

My mother last year set me up with a Pastor. Not an associate minister or minister of music or deacon or what not, but a PASTOR. Do you know one night we were talking and this man of God OPENLY TOLD ME that he fornicates. I almost dropped my phone. He told me, "once we touch lips, soon we will touch hips." I was turned off and offended outright.

So as you can see, I continue to hold Kirk Franklin in a good light. He knows what he did was wrong, but he never saw himself as totally above it -- his addiction or his hoeing. He conquered it through a lot of prayer, his wife's support, etc.

I can listen to his music now with an even greater respect and appreciation.
