We have a gorgeous fake tree. I grew up with both, but the fear of a fire with a real tree was too much for me. The fake trees are so much better (more real-looking) than the one we had when I was a kid - it was half bald.
By the way, I was sure this thread was about boobs when I saw it. If that were the case, my answer would switch to "real."
