I agree with what NeonPi and PM_Mama00 said. I think since your coat is tan, you should go with darker colors underneath or at least darker colored pants. I think wearing one solid color (black shirt with black pants or dark brown shirt with dark brown pants or charcoal grey shirt with charcoal grey pants) underneath a pea coat looks really classy.

Also if you're going to be doing a significant amount of walking in the city, make sure you have footwear that's comfortable (not too high a heel) and non-slip.
