I've sat out holidays a few times for reasons not even close to what you described. I just needed/wanted a break.
I'm so sorry about your situation with your mother. I think that your brother ought to pick her up and drive her home to you.
Do you have any plans for Thanksgiving? If not, treat yourself by going to a nice restaurant and having a delicious meal. You deserve to be waited on after all that you have been through.
