At my campus, we have a new chapter (I am not sure if they have their charter yet) anyway, for some reason we don’t get along at all. I don’t know why, because we are COMPLETELY different chapters. We recruit to WAY different groups, and the makeup of our chapters is really different. But they resent us and don’t even know us. We don’t resent them or hate them, because we have NO reason to. They arent even considered a threat to us, because our orgs are so diff. Not that we really care that much, but since it was brought up I thought Id mention it. The part I find HILLARIOUS is that if it weren’t for my org, they wouldn’t even be on campus. We were the ones that urged IFC into expansion talks. It was our brother who headed up the Expansion committee, it was our urging that selected that org. Our bothers even helped their expansion teams. I guess they don’t have a sense of their own history, or know where they come from. I understand how my chapter is a bit cocky, but we have earned the right to be proud. We won the basketball championship. Almost always are first in grades, have had the biggest rushes the past few semesters. Have great relations with the school, and always have the student Govmt presidency. We also have 100% involvement in student orgs. We have good parties, and great atheletes. We are the second oldest fraternity on campus, and have been at the university for 23 years (young school, young system). So I kinda thnk we have the right to be proud of who we are. We have the campus rep for being gentlemen, and that’s what the ladies always say about us. Yeah, we have our players and jerks, but ALL OF US DO. So I dunno who these boys think they are. Wew have just chalked it up to posturing. We usually just ignore em, ‘cause it’s a non-issue. We have more important things to do. We have our traditional rivalry with one of the older more established orgs, just cause we have a history with them.

Ok I'm not sure I quite understand your question. First let me tell you why we are rivals. Sigma Tau Gamma was one of the best fraternities before we showed up on campus. They won every athletic event, had the most pledges, and won greek week every year. My chapter was established in 97 and we basically took their pledges away from them and swept greek week ever since. They don't like us because we were such a young chapter and took everything away from them. Rivalies don't always have to work both ways. They first declared that they did not like us for many reasons so in return we did not like them as well. I'm not sure how it works with your campus but basically they don't like us because we're the new guys on campus, so in return we don't like them.
