I went through Army basic in Feb 1999. It's fun and if I can make it through anyone can. Are you going active duty or are you parttime? What is your MOS? Do you know where you are going to basic? I know a lot of the drill sergeants so maybe I can get you in troubel LOL
I loved the active duty time I had. I met a lot of great people and made some really good friends. The best advice I can give you is keep your name clean so that you can get promoted through the ranks and start making some money. Don't be the dumb private that the sergeants don't want to deal with.
When you get to your duty assignment remember your military bearing. Nothing irritated me more than a private out of school who thought they were teh best thing since sliced bread, and nothing would get me to give them an additional workout quicker than not showing me the respect I earned.
Remember that NCO's run the Army, officers are there to assist
