This may sound odd, but there is something philosophical about what the GLO is saying by sending an alum the magazine. If it were online, it would be the alum making the effort to get to know what is going on with the national org., by having to go online and to the national website and find it on the website.
By receiving a physical magazine, it is the national org. that is making the effort to get the alum involved, which in turn may get the alum to get involved. By sending the magazine, the national org. is saying that we want you to be involved and here is a token of our desire.
