When I talked to the police, and described the exact place it happened, I was told that as many as 500 or more people may have seen it, because there are a lot of apartments there and it's a busy intersection. The faces I remember are the people who were close enough to almost touch me. Afterwards I was happy that they didn't join in. One woman tried not to watch, but didn't help me either. I've lost a lot of the anger I had, except when I see a possible miscarriage of justice -- then it all comes right back to me in bright flashes of anger like you wouldn't believe!
