Also, again spare me with the "we beat them like this and you beat them like that" you know that every game is played differently and you can't judge the "way" a game is going to go by that. That is why I HATE the "voting" thing with NCAA football. A WIN IS A WIN - Arkansas could have been having a good day the day we played them etc. (Alabama beat Tenn, and Tenn beat LSU so does that mean we are going to beat LSU - Not that simple)

I think that, it doesnt matter what I think. Alabama should be # 3 this week. (unless the "voters" don't think we "belong" @ #3) I am more worried about LSU then USC. I personally wouldnt put Alabama up agains USC RIGHT NOW. Our offensive line is weak. However your offense wouldnt look so great against an Alabama or Auburn Defense. <check the stats

USC is the Number 1 offense in the country and that is earned not voted on. Alabama is the #2 defense in the country and "thank God" that is earned and not voted on.

I have no idea how USC would do in the SEC. I guess yall would do pretty good this year - not because "the SEC is Down this year" but because USC is good.

I think that with the system the way it is right now every team that goes undefeated (with any kind of schedule) should be screaming, spitting angry that they don't GET A CHANCE at the championship. And LSU can say that they are NATIONAL CHAMPS 2002. And, AUBURN should be able to say that they are NATIONAL CHAMPS 2004. Just because some schmo voter in Wyoming or where ever thinks that USC could beat Auburn (or whoever) doesn't mean that it would happen. WIN IT ON THE FIELD.

One more thing, If, by some small chance, Alabama beats LSU and Auburn, and wins the SEC championship, (I know that is a HUGE if) and USC plays Alabama and wins by 1 point or 30 points, it wouldnt mean that USC is better then the entire SEC it would mean that USC was better then Alabama that day and there fore would EARN their NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I know, you would think that would be a given and redundant statement. But, mark my words some sports writer would take that win as proof of the accuracy of the voting system.

WOW i am sorry for droaning (sp?) on an on. I am really enjoying this conversation.
Connie. You are telling me that you believe USC pays their players? Well, I don't know. But I do know this. If USC is paying their players atleast they don't get caught. I hate to be mean about this but USC fan isn't as fanatical as Alabama fan. You know. Because USC fan probably has a life and doesn't care whether not a 5 star recruit goes to their school. They will get over it. Unlike Alabama fan whose life revolves around college football because, well, basically that is all that there is to live for out there. But hey I love the SEC and all their fanatical fans. The SEC has the best rivalries, the most hatred, best traditions and best fans. So yeah I guess it is good to be fanatical.

Alabama is #2 in the country in defense. Yeah man, I gotta admit. That win against Florida was awesome. You guys held them to what? 3 points? Whats even more impressive is that Alabama has also shut down vaunted offenses like Arkansas, Ole MIss, Miss State, Southern Miss, a 3-5 Tennessee team and NCAA powerhouses like Utah State and Middle Tenn State.

USC's defense is something that people talk about a lot. Heres the thing. USC's defense right now has walk ons, converted wide recievers, scout players and male cheerleaders starting. I have never seen a squad so injured before. I don't know what it is but these dudes are banged up like hell. But they are improving week by week which is all me and Amycat can ask for. These guys are mostly freshman and sophomores and lost a TON of starters from previous years. But you know what? The points they are giving up are still against legit offenses (Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona State, Washington St). All those other points you see these Trojans giving up is during garbage time. Garbage time is usually around the 2nd quarter when USC is up 45-0 and Pete decides to be nice and let a bunch of Rudys play. Anyways when it matters the most. they step up. Pete is great at making adjustments and the injuries are becoming less and less. Now you will start to see all the 5 star recruits come back from their petty injuries like mono or getting stung by a bee or getting rejected by an Alpha Phi. Whatever it is. Right now USC's D is ranked 33 I think. But believe me by seasons end it will get lower.

Amy will nod her head on this one...the area of concern for the Trojans is their lack of care for punt and kickoff coverage. They SUCK in that department so if a team plans on beating USC they should definately exploit that.

Ok and your take on " if USC beats Alabama by 30 or 1 still doesn't mean they are the better team....". WHAT? What are you drunk? Well then what the hell does that mean? Why even better play the game?

Why not play it like this according to your mentality:

RING RING RING:

Alabama (all groggy) : uhhhhh hello
USC: Sup BRAH! Hey are you doin alright today?
ALabama: uhhhh no man...not to good.
USC: Ahhh ok. Well I'm doing really good. So I guess I'm the better team today
Alabama: Yyyeah man. Looks like it
USC: Ahh don't worry man. You can be the better team tommorow if I don't feel good.

What you just said totally takes away from what Alabama has done this season. So next time some Florida fan comes up to you and says " hey man, nice win vs us". you should say " ahhhh don't feel so bad Gator. We were the better team that day, but you are better than us 364 days out of the year!"

Oh yeah. You know how the White Sox beat the Astros in the world series? Yeah that doesn't mean anything. Because the White Sox were the better team than the Astros for 4 days.

Ok someone give me a shotgun because I am killin it.

What is funny is that I sound like a guy that really hates the SEC. But in reality, I actually LOVE the SEC. It is honestly my favorite conference to watch (that and ofcourse the Pac 10). I love the fans, the traditions and the rivalries. I feel they are 2nd to none.
