I have a student whose American translation of her chinese name is Princess, so that is her given American name. At first I thought, "Ugh, why would you name your kid Princess." But she is a wonderful young lady.I wouldn't do it to my future offspring, but hey...to each their own. I guess I just don't like odd spellings of normal names, but then people have been screwing up my name for years and it's normal.
