I enjoyed G. Now don't get me wrong, Christopher Scott Cherot is no auteur, but it's a pretty good look at what happens when hip-hop meets socialite society.
Chenoa Maxwell seems to be a limited actress, but I think Blair and Richard T. Jones handled their roles pretty well. Andre Royo's voice grates -- it's lispish; we were wondering if he'd also had hearing problems. Jillian Lindsey (Daisy Duke) brought the comedy -- her character seemed to be a play on Kimberly Denise Jones, bka Lil' Kim.
Plus, the visuals are stunning. Being a West Coast person, I've never been to the Hamptons, and am curious as to their appeal of sorts.
I've also got to give a fashion take. Blair was rocking the Ralph Lauren lines very well (Andrew, Ralph Lifschitz' son, was the producer of this film).
Go see it. I feel bad for my S.D. friends and sorors, because the closest place it's playing to is Irvine.
ETA: I just learned it's playing in San Diego. The Web site doesn't indicate this.
