I waited a while before I could respond to this thread. I decided, after my divorce, to put myself first. Over the years, I have put everyone else's needs before my own and as a result, I have not been happy. This summer, in addition to working, I spent some time enjoying my own company as well as spending time enjoying the company of people that I would not have spent time with otherwise.
I also made the decision to pull up stakes once again and move to another part of the country. I moved to Michigan from Mississippi about 6-7 years ago with no qualms. Now I'm about to head east (hopefully).
I guess turning 30 and seeing where I've been has really made me take stock of what I really want for my life. For the most part, I'm happy. I feel (increasingly) peaceful about myself and my life. I'm heading toward living my life like it's golden. It was golden anyway, but now it shines a little more.
