I was not kidding when I mentioned that McDonalds here serves Spam, Eggs, and Rice for breakfast.
Hawaii leads the nation in Spam consumption. A lot of it has to do with Spam's historical effect on the state, dating back to WWII. People back then ate it, their children was raised on it, etc. etc. It's hard to believe, but Spam's always been a part of local culture.
I think it was CT4 who posted an article when McDonalds announced they were adding it the menu here. It sparked a lot of "EW, that's just gross" comments, but I've been eating it 26 years -- and I'm still alive, so it's not gross at all.
Spam's not bad at all, people. If it were, I'm sure I would have had abnormal growths by now.

I'd heard that before (that Spam was popular in Hawaii), but didn't know if it were true, OTW. You live and learn.
Sometimes I
had to eat it as a kid, if you know what I mean, but I never really liked it. On the other hand - the Spam, eggs, and rice reminds me of pudding (liver mush), eggs, and grits, (that's sometimes eaten in the South) which I like....
