Psychiatrists (MDs) don't usually do the talk therapy. You have a 15-30 minute visit with them and they prescribe meds. THEN you have the appointment with the
Psychotherapist (PhD or Master's Degree) who does the talk/cognitive/family/etc. therapy for 45 minutes.
And I agree...I don' t have vh1, so I haven't seen the show, but I've seen clips and interviews, and he's certifiable. Meds would be good....lots of meds.
