ok. i used to work for her brother mike, so lemme clear a few things up as best i can
first things first: Rebbie isn't janet's mom. Katherine is. Jan was the baby of nine-but she's actually the 10th child. Marlon had a twin that died. there is a 16 year age gap between Maureen and Janet, but she's not Jan's mom-she married Nathaniel Brown as soon as legally able and had 3+1 kids, none of which IS janet-but one of whom IS Janet'S.
Jan married james at 18, to get out of the house. her parents are Jehovah's Witnesses, and some JWs don';t believe in leaving the roost until marriage. James was a crack and heroin addict. jan even dabbled in drugs during their marriage for a time. She got sick of looking for her husband in alleyways and crack houses, sick of trying to make it work, so she left. she still 'fooled around' with him after their breakup, tho. Jan and James had already had their marriage annulled when she became pregnant for the fourth time in the mid-80's. she waited too long to have that child aborted-and that child is her daughter Amber. Rebbie had had a miscarriage that had not been public around the same time janet had been preggers, so when the time came, jan GAVE her daughter to Rebbie. James and his mom Etterlene both knew about it. it was jan's decision-not Katherine's-for her 'not to have ea newborn by her drug addicted ex right as her Control LP came out so as to overshadow her burgeoning solo career'. Amber KNOWS who her mother is, but calls Jan her Auntie, and Rebbie and Nate her parents. she does not see James-at least, not as of a few years ago. Amber, FYI, was the little girl sitting on Michael's lap in the Jackson's music video for "2300 Jackson St." back in 89. i'll look out for pics.
second: Jan doesn't have a kid by rene. abortions?? yes, and several by James DeBarge in the early eighties. but no kids by Elizondo. she made sure of that. she has a deep seated fear that she would not be a good enough mother-worsened by not wanting her own daughter back in the day. its guilt, i suppose.
and thirdly, i don't know for sure, but If she's pregnant by (yes, her husband) JD?? good for her. she may be finally ready for the responsibility of a child now in her life. i don't agree with her choices in the past, but good for her. forgot to mention, Amber is actually a little older than 18
