I have to AMEN this sister! (SO many don't understand the importance of history) She understands the importance of these pictures. She said they are from a few years after the chapter colonized. She is going to let me bid on them and then the chapter will reimburse me...if we decide on it.
I may just donate.
My guess is that sometime during the tenure of the chapter some function or move took place where the pictures came down and were stored at someone's house. They weren't returned to the chapter. I'm guesses that this is a result of an estate sale and the seller doesn't know these don't belong to the person they are selling them for...or bought them from. Does that make sense? I'm going to email the seller after the auction. i don't want to ruffle any feathers.
