Being rush chair is extremely stressful but also extremely rewarding. I was elected for it out of the blue, (only one girl ran for it and she ended up transfering, and i was just her assistant!) I had no idea what I had gotten myself in to. But after weeks of planning, some really fun times and some yelling, rush was over and my chapter accepted 33 new girls. It was an awesome feeling to have accomplished so much, see my sisters come together, and see all these new girls be so excited to be a part of my chapter. It was well worth it!
However, you must prepare yourself for sleepless nights, sisters who do not cooperate, sisters and alumni giving you a hard time for cutting girls that they wanted, and lots and lots of stress and paperwork.
But at the same time, realize that you are helping some new woman out there recieve the bonds of sisterhood into your organization, sisters who won't leave your side until everything is completed, and also growing bonds with women who are rush chairs from other groups. Some of those girls became your best friends bc they go through the same stuff you do.
in the end, its your decision, but i think its one of the best decisions i ever made!
