It's kind of surprising that I did considering I came from a very limited greek family. Only one out of about 15 aunts/uncles was greek. One grandpa was a Kappa Sig, and my grandma was part of a local. That's it! No greek siblings either.
Being Greek led me to meet new people in new places, confidence in my leadership, cooperation with many many personalities, and friendships with people that I very well would never have known. I didn't need it to validate me as a worthwhile person, as it shouldn't need to, but what an experience it was and still is!
How different would your life be/have been without your organization and greek system?

See, for me it was only an uncle and my mother who had gone Greek. I figured I would do it when I went to school, just because I had heard good things.
I still would have had a good college experience, but I think going Greek afforded me the best college experience. I may never have met some of my best friends, or my wife for that matter (she's an Alpha Phi who I met while she was a new member).
