"The Alpha Phi colony at Virginia Tech attempted to break the record for the world's largest pillow fight this weekend. While the event fell short of the record of 2,800, there were 954 participants raising more than $2,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief.

Football Coach Frank Beamer and Basketball Coach Seth Greenberg threw the first pillow-blows in what turned out to be a safe and fun event.
