My Soror has a business...its called stand up-comedy. In her line of business, there are all types of routines that move audiences. She is paid for her work as an entertainer . Her particular routine is not PG. Is it my brand of humor? No. But do I respect her as an entertainer who has gained an enormous amount of respect for the thought provoking commentary that she weaves into her adult routine? Yes, absolutely.
Are you embarrassed by your Sorors who use foul-mouthed language just because they are foul-mouthed women and then in the next breath shout you out?
You see there is a difference .

Yes, I do get embarassed when a soror does such things. She is usually taken aside and given a sisterly talk, too.
I understand that she is an entertainer and gets paid for her humor. I enjoy some of her routines. (It's her politics I can't get with, but that's another story.) A group of us were discussing this once, because one of your sorors was talking about being a finer woman, while wearing letters and representing herself as a Zeta. And there's nothing wrong with that. I think we should all represent with class and be ladylike when repping our orgs. One of the guys asked her how was Sheryl Underwood representing finer womanhood, when she does a vulgar routine, then throws up your sign. I found the conversation interesting, but refrained from making too many comments. BTW, this was before I was a Delta.
