I have beyond stick straight. and it never holds a curl, with out lots of encouragement.
One thing I have found is to sleep with soft curlers in... think 1950's TV show.
the other thing I have found is to use lots and lots of product if you are going to use hot curlers. First "prime" your hair with a curl enhancer or a gel or mouise. I like moise... because gel makes my hair hard. Leave the curler in your hair until they completely cool, you can leave them in longer if you want. Then after rolling the curls down (if its not curly enough you can use a curler.) then spray the heck out of it!! with professional spray..
