Ok, well as I said earlier I will post about my experience with Rush so far. Let me start by saying that everyone I have met so far has been amazing and that GSU has some amazing sororities and Greek women on it's campus.
Yesterday was Open House and Today was Sisterhood Day. I'm going to combine the two in my comments because both of these days are open with no cuts happening. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of different women and talk with them about their philanthropy, academic excellence, and sisterhood events. My comments below mainly deal with how I felt during the rounds with each group.
London - I really enjoyed meeting the girls in this group. The conversation seemed to flow fairly easily and I was able to meet a fair number of girls the first night, although not as many the second night. Tonight the girls did a cute song and dance and the song stayed in my head for a while afterwards.
Paris - The girls in this sorority seemed really nice and sweet, but I didn't feel any connection like I had in the previous party. The room decorations were great, though, and the girls obviously put a lot of work into their songs/skit. Something just seemed to be missing, though, mainly because conversations seemed a bit choppy at times.
Copenhagen - I think I fell in love with this group the second I walked into the room. I just felt comfortable and was able to relax around these women. While I didn't speak with a lot of girls the first night, I spoke with a lot of them tonight and felt a connection. Their song was great too. Another song running through my head.
Rome - I think the easiest way to say how it felt in this group was uncomfortable. The conversation made me feel like I was pulling teeth at times. I know some of the girls in this group and I guess that just goes to prove that just because you click with a couple of people, you should see if you might or night not click with this group as a whole.
Athens - It's the end of the night and this group still had TONS of energy. I had the opportunity to meet a fairly large number of this sorority's members and enjoyed my conversations with each one. Great songs from this group too which will probably join the other two in my head as I go to bed.
A funny story about tonight (which I used as an icebreaker of sorts). The two Pi Chis with my group started dancing in a goofy way which made me start laughing. I guess I needed a good laugh because I started crying from laughing so hard. By the time they realized it, we had about 30 second before the next party was to start. So there I was, wiping tears away, when the doors opened. I explained it to my first girl (and a few others) at the party and we all thought it was funny. Nice icebreaker, I must say...
Well, we rank the sororities tonight and find out where we go back to tomorrow at 11:30 AM. So far my top five are:
Copenhagen
Athens
London
Paris
Rome
More from me later.....
