My mom works for a company that handles foreclosures on (I think) HUD homes here in Texas. They take care of the foreclosures, fix them, and sell them I think. Anyway, she told me that all of the houses they have listed have been taken down and given to FEMA to house evacuees. Not sure of any details, except that they have some concerns for their jobs because the company has basically taken away their work.
*I do not know all of the exact details of the situation and I could be wrong on some parts, but I just thought I would mention that some government housing has been given to house people who have lost everything.
