My Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, has recently issued a statement regarding Hurricane Katrina relief efforts by Grand Basileus George Grace. We are implementing a Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, which the chapters are supposed to contribute to through one of our non-profits. And individual brothers are encouraged to do so also. In the short-term, the Lambda Alpha Chapter House in Baton Rouge has been set up as a relief center for distriution of personal items for victims. The Fraternity IHQ has implemented an insurance counseling service for brothers affected by Katrina. I've seen reports that some relief efforts are taking place at the Rho Phi Chapter House in New Orleans.
