Quotes from the REAL Jennifer Jernigan:

http://www.superhands.us/pages/jernigan.html
Quote:
"When I was 10, I met a little girl, who was 4 who had a hand like mine," Jernigan said. "I was able to sit down with her and help her gain self-esteem."

Singing and dancing helped Jernigan overcome any shyness or timidness about her birth defect, she said.

Jernigan hopes to help other children with birth defects with their self-esteem and build awareness in others that these children aren't limited by a physical disability.
.....
Her birth defect has urged her to succeed, Jernigan said. "It's a proven fact that a person with a disability will try harder."

Quote:
My platform, Overcoming Disabilities and Differences through Self-Esteem (ODDS), was created to help children with birth defects gain the self-esteem needed to deal with the obstacles they may encounter as a result of the defect. As an advocate of O.D.D.S., I help children with birth defects learn to believe that “I’m OK” and “I can.”

I don't think any of the comments OleMissKD has made about her lack of a hand fall in line with any of those statements. So it's either proving that pageants and their platforms are a crock, or that she isn't who she says she is.
