I'm in Atlanta, and things here are a bit crazy regarding the gas
situation. DH and I filled up both of our cars at Costco during
lunch yesterday for $2.66 (regular unleaded) a gallon, which isn't
bad right now. Three hours later, on our way to pick up DD after
work, we passed four gas stations. Three were sold out completely and the one open was selling for $3.08. There was a double line of cars on the main street trying to get into the gas station parking lot. It was backing up traffic terribly. On the way home, we passed three other stations that were sold out.
The governor declared a state of emergency and put a limit on the
price increase yesterday afternoon. So, it looks like the prices
can't go any higher than they already are. There are some stations that raised their prices really high just before the governor's announcement, though.
My mom (who lives south of Atlanta in Jonesboro) passed a Kangaroo station on her way home yesterday that was selling at $2.99 and then a mile down the road a BP was selling at $3.69. Mom was so angry at the BP that she drove down the line of waiting cars and told them all to go to the Kangaroo! LOL
So, right now it seems like the prices are going to be okay but the
supply is the trouble... everyone ran out to fill up yesterday and
now most of the stations around us are out of gas.
