I was born in NY but was raised in North Kackalack and I remember my grandma (from deep Mississippi) always saying:
1) I "reckla-afta-awhile" (you gotta say it fast

)he'll be back.
2) She could never pronounce Children, so she always "Chi-ren"
3) She could never pronounce ST or some SH words; it always came out SK (skreet, skrimps, etc).
4) My grandparents never ate out because they didn't know how to act in restaurants. For ex., they didn't hold a fork with the thumb and the index finger...they grabbed it with a fist and ate like that.
Even though I didn't understand them and made fun of them when I was little, I love my Pop-Pops (RIP) and my May-Maw, and sometimes I even find myself saying some of the things they do/did.
