Not to berate you, and yes, hip-hop is VERY mysoginistic, but I'm hoping most people don't think hip-hop is the ONLY musical genre that berates women.

I was just reminded of the airhead sorority girl who blamed every man saying the words "bitch" and "slut" solely on hip-hop.

And besides, it's not like women were portrayed in such a COMPLETELY positive light back in the day either. For every "I Need Love" and "Very Special" you had "Pimpin Aint Easy" and "I Get Around". I Get Around was on the same album as Keep your Head Up, so where do you draw the line?

I used to like 90s rap with M.C. Hammer and 2pac and Will Smith, but I don't like most rap music now. Many of them degrade women and minorities. Same can be said for rap music videos. I sorry, but most rap today is awful. The only people I like from rap are Missy Elliot and Will Smith and Ludacris. At least they keep things respectful.

When I have children, I won't let them listen to rap, because many of the songs set bad example. Now, if it's Christian rap, I'll let them listen to it.
