Here's two cents from a longtime professor--
Our school has attendance rules. After 3 cuts, your grade goes down. I don't care if people cut class if they can keep up but what makes me crazy are people who are behind, cut frequently, and then come to me upset during the week before finals with tears in their eyes to ask for extra credit.
