These people all suck (with the exception of ODB, although I can't say I'd buy a "best of" CD of his), so how could they possibly put out good "best of" CDs?
Is the influx of "best of" CDs an attempt by the music industry to try to sell whole CDs, which I'm guessing people don't buy much anymore due to downloading music?
