I agree. I did the alcoholedu course as a part of a Tri Delta program. It was entirely redundant considering I'd already been through DARE and other anti-alcohol health-class programming multiple times. The only part of the study that I thought was even slightly new or interesting was the part where it calculated how much money you spent on alcohol in a year. On the whole, I thought it was a waste of time.
Kids KNOW binge-drinking isn't good for them. It's not like people are going around binge-drinking out of ignorance. If colleges want to cut back on drinking, they need to address the actual reasons why people drink, not made-up ones.
