hmm though. hard to comment on the decorating disagreement without knowing the lady and her tastes. did you like the way her apartment looked prior to her moving in with you? my husband and i lived together prior to marriage mostly out of necessity - we moved to florida from tennessee alone and sharing the bills was much easier right out of college. he never really tried to decorate too much. he has his office that i don't touch - all golf balls, pike stuff, and tennessee football. he makes fun of the formal living room, calling it the "tea room" and doesn't understand why it doesn't have a television. i would imagine that a lot of it has to do with moving directly from a fraternity house into a place with me - he never had a need to furnish a home....

but i digress. just make sure you go furniture shopping together and both make compromises. she doesn't get 100% girl and you don't get 100% boy. maybe she can spruce up a formal living area, but the comfortable living area / tv room stays as is. maybe you pick the colors you would like and she picks the style - or vice versa. she picks the couch, but you pick the wall paint and the artwork.

good luck!
