The "allegories" were the "mystic" drawings or art which served as the frontispiece for each chapter's entry in the Catalogue of 1881, edited by that master Clubhouse Builder, Charles J. Seaman.

There is no reason why a CHAPTER cannot select a work of art for her own use, just as she may select her own mark-of-difference and her motto. To my knowledge, the only "new" chapter which has an allegory is MTSU. Some of the original allegories are rather far afield of Beta lore (they were dug up out of other, er, clip art collections, and then, er, photoshopped into the correct Greek characters. Of course the single most important one is Epsilon's, as you probably already know.

If you do get one drawn, be sure to write an appropriate explanation, for use at the proper time. More I cannot say here.
