The last few online classes I've had weren't self paced: an assignment was due each week otherwise you were penalized. This was different from the last few classes I took online in my 4 year college. The earth science class was self paced and you could turn in a semester's worth of work in a week if you wanted to.
I'm wondering if teachers are catching on to the trend that some students wait until the last minute to do all this stuff. And I could understand. The classes I took were Microsoft Office courses to refresh. I could see how grading 50 million Excel documents can make anyone go nuts.
But online classes are good for stuff like this. Especially if they are pre-recs, program review classes or just GE that you don't want to sit through... or if you don't want to go to school every day or have time except for 6 am in the morning.
