I am getting away. I leave for school tomorrow. In a way, I am glad, but I also feel like I am stranding her. Not much I can do, though.

Honestly, I think if I were in your place, I probably would have told my best friend too.
And I think I would want someone telling me if that was happening to me. I would seriously rather have someone tell me than me find out about it some other way farther down the road. So I can see where you're coming from.
You can still be there for her even though you're leaving for school (phone calls, etc) but seriously, she needs to get out of that relationship ASAP and move on. I'm guessing she will probably be leaving for school too (?) and there are too many cutie college boys out there to stay with a cheating loser
