I literally was just saying to my grandmother not an hour ago how stupid it would be if they didn't write the pregnancy in. It would be so easy to do (especially when the writers have no qualms about "fast forwarding" time).
The way I think they could do it is have her and Vaughn at the hospital and since they would do a complete blood work up the doctors would figure out she is pregnant then the next episode would be 5-7 months later (since these episodes are being filmed now and the baby is due in November/December). Then you could have Sydney give birth during November sweeps, which is around the same time Jennifer has the baby.
