Yeah, this is a common misconception often heard by soft-ass people who live in the suburbs and whos only connection or experience with life in the inner city is owning the new Ludacris album. In reality, there are very few 'Americans' who want/need benefits who don’t get them. The people who don’t get them are usually the people who don’t apply for them. I worked in public assistance for 3 years in college. Saw the system first hand. Know what I am talking about. Also, as Valkyrie said, calling someone a wetback (which there’s no river they have to cross to get into California - just a fence) is not only an offensive epithet, but incorrect and just made me loose a lot of respect for you. Forever, in my mind, and probably the minds of many on here, you will be that bigot chick. Way to rep Alpha Phi. You have sisters on here that are Hispanic. Think they are wetbacks?

i dont believe in educating the children it only gives them more chances to rob our assists and gain stronger footing on our land ....when i was born and raised here and their type get priority Financial aid or priority registration over me and they boost about it....it is a disgrace to our country and disprepectful to our citizens to over look us and give to these ILLEGAL aliens

I can’t believe someone would think that it was right to deny kids an education, and that only certain types of people have the right to better their lots in life. I'm also willing to bet that whoever told you they got better and priority financial aid because they were illegal, was like you, talking out their ass. See, I am not xenophobic, so I wasn’t afraid to make friends with the people of other skin colors that I went to college with who weren’t from the US. I learned that for the non-citizen students, they were ineligible for most of the governmentally backed financial aid.

Yeah, lastly. What language did your ancestors speak? Why don’t you go back there? Something to think about; you are where you are because years ago, somebody allowed immigrants, like your family to come into this country. I'm just wondering if you'd be as adament about this whole immigration thing if the US was having a debate about Canadians illegally coming into the country.
