Ok I'm back...can't stay away from the Chico threads.
First of all you guys are listening to rumors posted on this board by people who never went and do not now attend Chico State or have any affiliation. There are no building plans that Zingg is trying to get rid of us for...so shut all that crap up about us "feeling harassed" because of it...I don't even know where you pulled that crap from. I explained full details of why that rumor is false in another thread somewhere...but trust me it isn't true.
Also, boy everyone sure is quick to point fingers at other greeks when I know for a fact that there is no perfect greek system. The Chi Tau death, as if I have to remind people, wasn't technically part of our "greek system"...no one was overseeing those boys they were regulating themselves and we as the greek community did everything we could but the university and the city refused to help us more.
As for Sigma Chi. Yup they screwed up big time. I think they deserve suspension and whatever else they get for punsihment. But at least those boys took immediate steps in the right direction by starting the Lifesaver program at Chico State (drug and alcohol awareness and fundraiser).
As for the Phi Tau porn video...just plain stupid. But not as much of a risk managment issue, more of a standards issue. Still bad, deserves reprimand.
But you know what? The rest of us are doing fine, all our numbers are up, we participate in the campus and community, and I am proud of the chapter i am a part of. We kicked ass in Greek Week and raised a crapload of money for the community despite all the controversy.
exlurker - I don't see what is so interesting about the changes made to the panhellenic website. I guess what I really mean is I don't appreciate the sarcasm I read in your post about it. We are embracing the changes to come - what the hell else should we do? Throw our arms up in defeat?
I am really resenting Greek Chat and all the crap I'm reading lately about this situation as it pertains to me personally. I don't know didilly squat about any other greek system besides Chico and SF State so I wouldn't pass judgement on the bad things happening to greeks there.
And as I've said before - if you really want the truth about this instead of just running your mouth, ASK ME!!!
