I would've told them strongly where to go well, in a nice way.
Those of you who are SO concerned with what your HQ thinks of you.... why? If you're not doing anything worthy of getting your badge pulled, why do you care so much? Why let an organization totally control you? I've been semi-reprimanded by our HQ for things i've said in our yahoo group and elsewhere. I've disagreed very strongly with some of our policies in our yahoogroup and elsewhere. I've had some passionate arguments with some of the HQ staff. That's my right and my freedom. Where in ANY of our manuals, rules, etc does it say that sorority sisters must agree on EVERYTHING? What kind of power do these people have over you that you feel the need to hide? Again, if you're not disrespecting your org and just posting your opinions, etc. THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU. And if they can/would, why would you want to be a part of that org?
In every group there's people that are power hungry and NEED for people to do everything they say how they say. But the fact is our orgs are made up of 10's of thousands of very different individuals with very different attitudes and beliefs. And some people don't realize it. But why let them get you down?
Our inter/national officers are not infalliable. Our HQ staffs are not infalliable. They're wrong sometimes. And that's okay. We disagree sometimes, and that's okay. That's why we live in this country (and Canada, lol). We can do that.

I don't have an HQ, but I have, in the past, been told to keep my trap shut on various topics by older sisters. But I agree with you that someone's HQ shouldn't be playing "Big Brother" on a public forum.
Granted the topic I started in Rush probably wasn't the best time to break out a new SN because yes it seems petty and stupid to "disguise" myself.
Honestly I just wanted to change my name a while ago, but never knew I could transfer my old posts to my new name without being a mod or something.
So I'll just hang out and wait until John gets back to me.
