I have
always craved baking soda, ever since I was a little girl. I don't know why, and when I mentioned it to my doctor he just looked at me like

. I've had to break myself out of eating it because it can mess up your stomach lining, but I like the taste and the smell... go figure. It's probably something that my body is missing, but I haven't figured it out yet.
I've heard of people digging up red clay when I was in SC and eating it. People that crave it here actually buy it and eat it. One of my co-workers told me that his son eats deodorant constantly and they have to hide it. His son is 6.
Anyway, aside from the baking soda, when I was pregnant, I ate ice all the time (yes, I was anemic, and I couldn't keep my vitamins down). I used to eat it by the buckets full (no exaggeration!!)!

Now, I still crave it every once in a while, and I may crush it in the blender, but I also take a multivitamin or eat veggies & nuts to make sure my iron is up.
