That sister's decision not to pay dues may just be a decision that has nothing to do with religion. As a Muslim (not Nation of Islam) member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, I don't see anything conflicting with the organization and my religious beliefs, otherwise, I wouldn't have joined. I've heard of people using their devotion to Christianity as a reason not to pay ues, so I don't know what each individuals problem was. If not affiliating with a greek organization is better for someone spiritually, that's just a decision that person will have to make. Also, greek organizations were founded on Christian principles, but in principle, Christianity and Islam share common basic principles- service, scholarship, love for your brother or sister, etc. I'd advise you to ask those particular Muslims who were Greek why how Greek life conflicts with the practice of Islam. Don't ask someone who is not greek because that person is just assuming things.
