I just graduated 2 years ago, but during the time I was in school, my best friends included some of my AOTT sisters, some Alpha Xi Delta girls, and a Sigma Kappa. We were all rivals when it came to rushing girls, but we were all best friends inspite of that. We would DEFINATELY have times when we would say "okay, I am talking to you now as my best friend, not as an AZD(or Sigma Kappa, or AOTT) and then we knew that this was best friend time. That kind of relationship took an strong amount of trust, but we pulled it off. And as I have said in numerous posts, it was all of those women AND my sisters that made me who I am today and I would never have had such an awesome college experience without them. Yes, the bond of your GLO sisterhood(or brotherhood) is wonderful, but it shouldn't completely define you. I am just greatful that I went greek--that to me is the strongest bond of all.
